Montreal is a good place to go?

This winter, my family and I are planning to go to Montreal. Before leaving, I want to know two things: 1. Is pretty? 2. Is it populated? 3. Is it more of a town or city? (Like New York) 4. Is there a different currency is in the U.S.? If so, you should change your money? 5. People speak English? 6. What is the weather in December? Thank you. :)

I live in Montreal throughout the year and I'm probably biased, but I'll try to give objective answers. 1) Montreal is a very friendly and pleasant. In winter, it looks very good after a snowstorm, but since they are salt and sand on the streets, you can start looking a little depressing that the end of the season when all the buildings and cars carry a mist of gray salt. 2 and 3) Our city Not the size of New York City. We have about 3 million people, mostly caught on the island in the St. Lawrence River. We considered a city slightly smaller than in Boston. This is a very vibrant, and as New York seems to be easier and fun night when the clubs are open and people walk up and down in the center. 4) The same type of currency, except ours is more colorful. We all sides of the coin for the quarter that you have, but add to the dollar and the currency two dollars, the more tickets ($ 5, $ 10, $ 20, $ 50). Many ATMs will bring Canadian dollars with a debit card United States. Your bank will automatically change. Visa and Mastercard are accepted at most stores. 5) The Province Quebec is mainly French and that all signs are in French, and you say to someone who starts talking in French. However, many shops and restaurants are realizing that the money Tourism is an important part of our business, and so do its utmost to serve you in English. But it is supposed to receive service in English, as it has the mandate of here. Montreal and Quebec are the cities where cases are more likely to offer a service in English. Private citizens or businesses outside these cities are mostly French. I am familiar with simple terms, before coming here, so: Thank-You = Merci (Mare see) = Please, please (Sill-voo-pleh) Hola = Hello (Bohn-Jurrien) Hi Hi = (SA-LU) Do you speak English? = English Parlez vous? (VOO in Glehen Parlay) How? = How? (komb-Yain) = West = East West South North-East North-South = 6) The weather in winter ranges usually just above freezing to the freezing weather. If control of a Weather Channel, remember that our temperature in degrees Celsius we use the metric system. Be sure to dress in layers, wear some long underwear, a warm coat, gloves or mittens, hats. If clothes are not appropriate here, we have many stores including Zellers (destination), which are cheap winter clothes. We also have a city underground, where you can buy and eat without having to use the outside foot, and a subway reliable and clean to go from one part of town to another. You can view any of the links that transmission.
